Comment guidelines
Comments are for questions and experiences about Medicare, plans, drugs and costs. They're written by visitors, not by us, and we don't check what they say. For anything you'll act on, check with your plan, Medicare or a SHIP counselor.
How it works
- No sign-up. The first time you comment or like something, you get a made-up name (like QuietHeron-482), kept in this browser for as long as you keep visiting. Clearing your cookies, using another device, or a year with no visit gives you a new one.
- A comment appears as soon as you post it, unless it breaks a rule below, in which case you'll be told which one.
- You can delete your own comments. A comment that several readers report is hidden until it's been looked at.
What can't be posted
- Web links, email addresses or phone numbers. You can write a site's name out, like “medicare dot gov”.
- Social Security or Medicare numbers. Nobody here needs them to help you.
- Swearing, slurs or insults.
- Politics: politicians, parties and elections. Medicare rules and costs are fine, of course.
- Selling, recruiting or asking people to contact you. This site doesn't sell plans and doesn't allow anyone else to here.
- Anything about a named person: please don't name doctors, agents or neighbors.
Asking for a comment to be reviewed
If a comment is wrong about you or your business, breaks these guidelines or shouldn't be here, use Report under it, or tell us through Report an issue with the page and what the comment says. We'll look at it, and a comment that breaks the guidelines is removed rather than edited.
